Botanical gardens, art museum, and research library.
More botanical gardens! Smaller than the Huntington but just as lovely.
Take in some film history at the Academy Museum, or catch a movie at the Ted Mann or David Geffen theaters!
A Los Angeles legend! Great for little ones and kids at heart, catch a puppet show using authentic, vintage marionettes.
If you want to check out a studio tour while out and about in La La Land, this is the one to try! Visit the sets of some of great TV shows and movies. Also has a pretty fun gift shop.
Aside from Vidiots, this is one of our favorite movie theaters in LA. Now under the ownership of Quentin Tarantino, they only play movies on film, not digital. Beautiful interior, great concessions, and comfy seats with roomy rows. And they keep the air conditioner BLASTING. Grab some coffee and a snack (or a bowl of cereal) next door at Pam's Coffey!
Comic books and pinball machines! A fun spot for horror, sci-fi, and general pop culture geeks.
In our humble opinion, the best art supply & gift shop in Los Angeles! Pick up a unique gift, some arts & crafts supplies, or a one-of-a-kind greeting card. Right down the street from Bob Baker Marionette Theater!
Los Angeles is home to some wonderful parks, and this is one of the best. Check out some art at the gallery, tour the Frank Lloyd Wright-designed Hollyhock House, or just enjoy a picnic with incredible views.
A staple in our little Glassell Park neighborhood with a retro diner feel. Delicious sandwiches, pastries, and sourdough loaves to go. Enjoy "BG Nites" on Sunday & Monday evenings from 5-10pm for a special night menu and jazz music sets.
Delicious pizza - served by the slice for lunch, whole pies all day.
Cafe for brunch/lunch, fresh pastries, great coffee and smoothies
Beer & wine bar, vintage pinball machines. You simply MUST get a hot dog here.
Cocktails and small bites. Classy yet casual. Very Italian.
Our neighborhood bar! Enjoy craft beer or a pickle-tini on the patio!
Great cocktail bar, also right around the corner from Dylan & Janelle!
If you're looking for a great date night spot, this is the one. Modernized "American heritage" cooking, which basically means almost everything is wood-fired. And delicious. A little on the pricey side, but worth it. Try the corn bread!
