The Mehndi ceremony is an event where the bride gets henna applied on her hands, arms, and feet. The intricate designs are considered to be auspicious and symbolic of good luck, prosperity, and good health for the bride. Guests can choose whether they want henna or not. Please let me know by 8/14 if you would like a henna design applied and also send me the design. I will be covering the cost of my guests' henna.

Jaggo means "wake up" in Punjabi and it is a pre-wedding tradition that announces the upcoming wedding and allows the community to partake in the celebrations. This is supposed to be an informal, fun event with dancing, singing, and food. Guests are invited to just come, have a blast, dance, and partake in the festivities.

Casual. Bright colors are encouraged. Yellow is usually the theme and go-to color for this event.
Haldi: The tumeric cleansing ceremony is a lively pre-wedding ritual where a paste made of tumeric is applied to the bride and groom by family and friends. This symbolizes a "cleansing" of the bride and groom in preparation for wedding day. Guests are encouraged to participate in slathering tumeric on bride and groom. Choora: After this, red and white bangles (chooras) on me. These symbolize fertility, prosperity, and the symbolizes the beginning of the bride's married life.
9:00 am - 2:30 pm
Semi-formal. We will need to cover our heads and shoulders. Of note, we are required to take our shoes off in the temple.
Anand Karaj means "blissful union" and it's the Sikh wedding ceremony that symbolizes a spiritual union or soul fusion of two people.
12:00 pm - 3:30 pm
Casual. Red is encouraged.
敬茶 means "offering tea" and is a traditional part of Chinese wedding where couple serves tea to their elders, symbolizing respect and gratitude.
