Every step to getting to Mackinac Island

Travel: Option 1- Fly into Detroit Airport, rent a car and type in Starline Ferry Dock Mackinaw City, MI to your GPS. Option 2- Fly into Pellston, MI. Find the shuttle at the airport to the Starline Ferry Dock. (30 min ride). Option 3- Drive straight to Starline Ferry Dock, there is overnight parking there. Starline Ferry: If not already bought online, please proceed to the small building to purchase a Ferry Ticket to Mackinac Island. If you are staying the night you will need a roundtrip ticket. If you are staying on the Mainland you will buy 2 Round trip tickets. There are Ferry rides almost every 30 minutes in the Summer, please check the schedule from Mackinaw City to Mackinac Island online at Starline Ferry Website.

What to do when you arrive to the Island

Answer

1. Please make contact with the hotel you are staying at before your arrival. Make sure to request Dock Porters to come and retrieve your bags from the dock, this will be a big help if you arrive before Check in time or if your Hotel is a far walk. 2. The Starline Dock is located right in the middle of Main Street, when you step off the boat you will have access to food, shopping, bars, bikes, taxis, etc. Please see the things to do page for ideas. 3. Please note** the Dock that you arrive on the Island is the same dock we will be loading the Sip n Sail boat on Friday night at 7:30 pm** 4. There are plenty of employees around if you have any questions on location of hotel, etc.

How do we travel on the Island?

Answer

For Transportation: Plan to walk, bike, or take a carriage ride for travel on the island. When you arrive to the island, make sure you coordinate with your hotel to have the dock porters help with your luggage if needed. Where do we park our car at the Ferry Dock?

Premium Dockside Day or Overnight Parking – Park on the dock near the ferry for your trip to Mackinac Island, $10.00 per vehicle per day or $15.00 per vehicle per night located in Mackinaw City Only. Space is limited, first come, first serve. Self-Park Secured – For our guests wanting to park their own car, we have a fenced in area located across the street and just to the right of the dock. We are happy to pick you up at that location after you have parked your vehicle. Self-Park Secured is $5.00 per night. (Mackinaw City only) Free Parking – Star Line offers both day and overnight, free, unsecured off site parking. Our Star Line shuttles will pick you up and bring you to where you board the ferry.
