About 45 minutes north of Traverse City, tucked on a small peninsula called Northport Point, sits a place that’s been part of our family’s story since 1899—when Jane’s great-great-grandfather bought the land, built a cottage, and began what has become generations of summer traditions. In the early 1900s, the only way to reach Northport Point was by train and then by boat. Over the years, guests and friends purchased lots, built cottages, and created a close-knit community that still thrives today—complete with a 9-hole golf course, tennis and pickleball courts, and a beach and park at the narrowest part of the peninsula. We spend every summer here filling our days with golf, tennis, swims in the bay, and bonfires on the beach surrounded by family and friends. We can’t wait to welcome our favorite people to our favorite place for this special weekend!

Accomodations

To make the experience as seamless and enjoyable as possible, a number of long-time community members and Goodspeed family friends have graciously offered their homes to accommodate our guests We have prearranged all accommodations for our guests and kindly ask that you plan to stay on site in the community arrangements we have reserved. Additional details regarding lodging specifics and arrival information will be shared upon RSVP, with an expected lodging cost of $200 per guest to cover the cleaning fees and guest golf cart rentals for transportation around the community. These accommodations are available to our guests for Thursday, Friday, and Saturday nights of our wedding weekend along with access to the community amenities (golf course and tennis courts). Please provide response on our RSVP page by July 15th to help us finalize arrangements. Please submit your lodging payment on Venmo to @Daniel-Hirsh labeled as "D&J Housing Reimbursement" by August 15th.

TVC or GRR

The closest airport to Northport Point is Cherry Capital (TVC) in Traverse City, 45 minutes away. Grand Rapids (GRR) is the second closest airport, about 2 hours and 45 minutes away.

Please note that Northport Point is in a very remote part of Michigan, with limited taxis and Ubers. We recommend renting a car to get to the Point. You can pick up cars in Grand Rapids or the TVC airport.
