Cam and Jane met on the dating app Hinge in August 2021, shortly after both had moved back to Denver. Jane had just wrapped up nursing school in Baltimore, while Cam decided it was time to retire from his ski-bumming days in Montana. Cam says he joined the apps to get better at meeting people and swears he wasn’t looking for a relationship. Jane, on the other hand, claims to have only accepted a date with Cam because she was dying to leave the house after being quarantined with Covid the week prior. Their first date was a round of frisbee golf—until a thunderstorm rolled through just two holes in. As Cam started to pack up and call it a day, Jane suggested they continue the date at a nearby brewery instead. A few beers and hours of conversation later, it was clear they’d found something special. Things moved quickly from there. By May 2022, they were living together, bonding over their shared love of the outdoors. From skiing in Japan to backpacking in Wyoming and beach bar hopping in the Caribbean, they’ve always had the most fun simply being together. In the Fall of 2024, life got even more serious with the addition of their golden retriever puppy, Benedict. Realizing their cozy duplex in Wash Park was getting a little tight, they bought their first home together in Morrison soon after. Then, on February 16, 2025—while skiing at Wolf Creek—Cam saved the best surprise for last. He proposed. Jane was so stunned, she said “yes” twice.
