Flight
Flying into SBN will get you closest to the festivities. This small, international airport has direct flights from Chicago, DC, Detroit, Atlanta, Minneapolis, Charlotte, and Dallas.
Flight
Chicago has two major airports: O'Hare and Midway. If choosing between, we recommend Midway because it is a bit closer and a bit less chaotic. If you fly into either airport, you have a few options to get to South Bend. You can rent a car and/or Uber. Or, for the cheapest and most challenging option you can get yourself from either airport to Millennium Station in Chicago and take the South Shore Line (https://mysouthshoreline.com/) to the South Bend Airport. If you brave this option, please let us know and we will see if we can deputize someone to pick you up from the Airport!
Train
South Bend has its own Amtrak stop, making traveling by a train a feasible option.
Travel Note
Although certain neighborhoods in South Bend are walkable (campus and downtown, for example), we recommend considering a car rental for your stay if you want to be more mobile. The South Bend International Airport has a few easy and affordable car rental options. Ubers are also readily available in town.
