Our Story

Some love stories start with a spark — ours started with a swipe. Despite Miss Jordan’s very precise dating app settings (no more than 10 miles away), somehow we matched from over 50 miles apart. So yes, even though our “meet-cute” isn’t exactly a hallmark story, we still must’ve been in the right place at the right time! On September 16th, 2022, we messaged and exchanged numbers, and two days later had our first date — on the pickleball court in Jordan’s neighborhood. By September 25th, we had our first “real” date, when Mr. Jordan took Miss Jordan to a very nice dinner and then taught her how to two-step. Soon after came our first trip together, we made things official on November 11th, and by the holidays we had met each other’s families and friends. Since then, our story has unfolded across highways, airports, and countless adventures. From Rome to Sedona, Switzerland to San Diego, Taos to Cozumel, we’ve crisscrossed states and countries together. We’ve logged over 42,460 miles just driving back and forth to see each other — two visits a week, every week, from the very beginning. What started as long-distance, turned into “medium-distance” from Albuquerque to Santa Fe, but every mile has been worth it. On July 11th, 2025 on a backpacking trip to Havasupi Falls in the Grand Canyon, Jorden asked Jordan to marry him. She said yes, and now we’re counting down the days until we get to say “I do.” About the Bride Jordan was born in Denver, grew up primarily in Park City, Utah, and also spent time living in New Mexico and Texas. In high school, she was both a cheerleader and a dancer at Park City High, graduating in 2013. She went on to attend the University of Utah, where she joined Kappa Kappa Gamma, and in 2018, she achieved her lifelong dream of becoming a NICU nurse. Always passionate about nursing (and seeing the world), she combined both loves as a travel nurse in 2021. An assignment brought her to Albuquerque, where she put down roots — buying a home where her parents now live, and eventually meeting Jorden. Today, she’s a Pediatric Intensive Care Nurse at UNM Children's Hospital and is getting ready to start school to become a Nurse Practitioner. About the Groom Jorden was born in South Dakota but grew up in Wyoming, living in Torrington, Thermopolis, and Cody. At Cody High School, he was valedictorian, a 3A state football champion, and graduated in 2015. He went on to the University of Wyoming, earning both his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Mechanical Engineering. Along the way, he interned across the country — from Denver to Houston — building a reputation for hard work, problem-solving, and leading with quiet confidence. In January 2022, Jorden moved to Santa Fe, New Mexico, where he now works as a Weapons Engineer in R&D at Los Alamos National Laboratory. His greatest accomplishment? Depending on who you ask, it’s either being a state football champion… or winning over a girl who spells her name almost exactly like his. Fun Facts About Us Yes, we have the same first name — and soon the same last name too. Our earliest texts were about that one-letter difference in spelling, which worked out in our favor because it will soon be our only identifier. We’re only 10 months apart in age but two grades apart in school. The same song Jorden first taught Miss Jordan how to dance to will also be our very first dance as husband and wife. Though born in Denver, Jordan never went back until Jorden took her there as a Christmas gift. Our Future We’re looking forward to sharing TWO names now, one ZIP code, and a very full life. We don't yet know if we'll end up in Los Alamos for Jorden’s work, Albuquerque for Jordan’s, or split the difference in Santa Fe, but one thing is for certain: we’ll finally be home.
