We met in New York City in 2018 after matching on a dating app, and we hit it off right away. What started as casual messages quickly turned into daily conversations that felt effortless and full of connection. For our first date, we planned to meet at Barcade for a fun night out. But when we got there, it was closed for a private event. Instead of calling it a night, we went with the flow. We found ourselves walking through Greenwich Village, talking nonstop, and soaking in the energy of the city. Eventually, we landed at a comedy show at the Comedy Cellar. That night was full of laughter, great conversation, and a feeling that something special was beginning. Not long after, on May 3, 2018, we officially started dating, a date that’s held meaning for us ever since. In 2020, we took a big step and moved in together, relocating to Indianapolis so Janay could pursue her master’s degree. A year later, in August 2021, Terrence proposed and Janay said yes! In 2022, we made another move, this time to Milwaukee. We’ve fallen in love with this city and the friendships we’ve built here. It truly feels like our third home, after New York and Janay’s home state of Ohio. From that spontaneous first date in the Village to cross country moves, new adventures, and growing together every step of the way, we can’t wait to celebrate this next chapter with all of you.
