Fun with Rick & Jan
Rick and I met in 2013, via our mutual gardener, Katherine. She said “You’re my favorite client,
and now I have a new favorite client. You should meet him. He loves art, wine, gardens —
just like you. May I give him your number?” After initial hesitation, I said, “Sure!”
We spent a month corresponding by email. I enjoyed coming home from work to see if there was an email from him. We slowly got to know each other.
Finally, we met for lunch at Leunig’s Bistro in Burlington. At the end of that first date,
Rick hugged me and said cheerily, “Well, I’d like to see you again.” Phew, I thought.
Thank you for breaking the ice on that one. I walked home with a spring in my step.
Our relationship deepened as our love for each other grew. We’ve traveled a lot,
including trips all over the Americas. We’ve both endured challenges. We learned to support each other through rough times.
We love our life together. We can’t wait to welcome all of you and
share our special property with you.
