Loudoun’s county seat is a picturesque little burg with a historic downtown bustling with restaurants, cafes, bars, breweries, boutiques and chic home décor stores. Dine on oysters, tacos and farm-to-table fare on King Street (our restaurant row) and sip craft espressos, cortados and lattes at any of a dozen or so artisanal coffee shops that make up the Leesburg Coffee Corridor. There’s a vibrant art and music scene too, with several museums, galleries and a concert venue - Tally Ho - as well as public murals, statues and a sculpture garden. Explore the public art on an organized tour with Loudoun Art Tours or download the popular Leesburg walking tour app. As for history, the town is bookended by two historic mansions - Morven Park and Oatlands Historic House and Gardens - while a short walk from King Street is Dodona Manor, house-turned-museum of statesman-General George C. Marshall, architect of the Marshall Plan that rescued Europe after World War 2.
Reade might be biased, but he highly recommends this museum.
Cute, historic downtown with various boutiques and shops.
More than 30 breweries make up the county’s LoCo Ale Trail, from trendy taprooms in the urban east to scenic mountain-top beer gardens out west and much in between.
The place that introduced us to Bluemont, and what is now one of our favorite spots in VA.
