It was the summer of 2010 at Grand Valley State University when they met during a night out with a mutual friend. It wasn't until six months later, after a thoughtful hand-written note was delivered to Janae's door and a little convincing from her friend, Donte, that she agreed to go on a date with Keenan. The rest, as they say, was history. They've had the fortunate experience of maturing, learning, and literally growing into adulthood together and that's something that each of them feel has bonded them for life. That and a love of traveling. In late August 2021, they took a trip to Maui, Hawaii to celebrate Keenan's birthday. On September 1st, during a drive on the popular "Road to Hana", they stopped at the famed "Garden of Eden" arboretum. As they began their hike through nature, they stopped at an overlook. Keenan suggested taking a picture of Janae looking out over the scenery. As Janae turned around, she was shocked to find Keenan down on one knee with a ring in his hand. The question was obvious and the answer, through tears and disbelief, was an emphatic "YES!" Almost 2 years later, they’re ready to tie the knot! They are so excited for their special day and can’t wait to celebrate with family and friends.
