Our paths crossed occasionally while working at the hospital. Aside from being a beautiful and intelligent women, I was drawn to her because of the unique tattoo she had on her index finger. "Agape", God's love, or unconditional love sparked a conversation which over the next few weeks would lead to us realizing how similar we were in life goals and values. We can both say that this unconditional love has literally been the foundation of our relationship which has blossomed into a friendship we both had prayed for for a long time.
On May 23, I planned a trip to Longwood Gardens so we wouldn't miss the peony garden this year. With the smells of the spring peonies still in my nose, we walked into a secluded arbor garden. I thought it was a great opportunity to take a self timed photo, so I set my phone up on a nearby bench. John said "he blinked" for the first photo and told me to take another. I ran back to the camera to take a second picture. However this time, at the last second instead of posing, he got down on one knee. I still can't believe that unknowingly I took my own proposal picture!
