We met in the fall of 2015 at a neighborhood event. We just randomly started talking, and clearly we never stopped. Our story is simple, we just liked each other, and still do ( thank goodness since you’re reading this on our wedding website lol). As you surely noticed, we created our Save the Dates, and Invitations. This was truly a love filled collaboration. Through all of our research, designing, redesigning, disagreeing, celebrating, trials and errors, 20 or so trips to Michael’s, and countless hours of manufacturing in our dining room turned invitation factory, we created something that we feel defined us as a couple. Not only did we design and create cards that we were proud to share, we had so much fun doing it! Executing this project together reminded us of the core values of a strong relationship, and how grateful we are to have grown together over the past 9 years. We’ve made it this far because we support each other and manage the ups and downs of life together. We respect each other and communicate open and honestly, without judgment. We trust each other and feel secure even through vulnerability. We value each other’s individuality, opinions and boundaries and encourage personal growth. We hold space for each other, and are empathetic to each other’s needs. We are loyal and express gratitude, we listen, and we forgive. We remind each other of our strengths, and we brainstorm through our opportunities. So basically our love story is much like our invitations. We started without a clear idea of what we wanted to make, and weren’t sure how to make them. We took the time to learn about the process, and worked hard to perfect it. Our design changed and evolved, with several mistakes along the way. But we kept plugging along, finding the best ways to create the beauty we were looking for. We had awesome productive days, and days that some of those cards just didn’t come together as smoothly as others. At first glance they look fairly simple, but when you look a little closer you’ll notice that they are more than that. They are made from many different panels and pieces. They are made from powerful love and patience, hard work and creativity, ingenuity and inspiration, worry and laughter. Those cards are a true representation of our relationship … and we think they’re beautiful!
