We came here on our second date. Our personal preference is the BBQ pulled pork sandwich with hush puppies and fries.
Castle Hill Cider Llc
We came here for our fourth date and it has been one of our favorites ever since. Try James' favorite, Serendipity 2015, a "bright, fresh, and fruit-forward cider made from Albemarle Pippin apples," or Emily's favorite, Big Pippin Ginger, a "cider fortified with oaked apple spirits and pressed ginger."
Barboursville Winery
One of the premier wineries in the area with a huge selection of reds and whites. A tasting is $10 for 17 vintages. They also have on site the Barboursville Ruins, a Thomas-Jefferson-designed mansion that was left to crumble after it burnt down.
James Madison's Montpelier
If you're lookng for some history in the area this is the home of the 4th President of the United States, James Madison.
Carter Mountain Orchard
An apple orchard and store. We had our 6th month and 1 year anniversaries here. We recommend their fresh apple cider slushies and apple cider doughnuts.
Michie Tavern ca. 1784
This is Historic Mitchie Tavern, the home of some truly delicious fried chicken. It's also right next door to Carter's Mountain and Monticello.
Monticello
Another for the history buffs, Jefferson's Monticello.
Downtown Mall
A walking mall in downtown Charlottesville that's full of interesting shops and restaurants.
