Wedding Party

Meet the wedding party!

Shanëka Rodriguez

Maid of Honor

Shanëka and Jamilläh are complimentary sisters. In kindergarten, Jamilläh did all the talking for Shanëka. Since then, they have completely switched places and it is never a party unless you can hear Shanëka! You can always tell when she's up to no good by her mischievous smirk or the way her eyebrows crinkle. However, she is always there to remind Jamilläh in times she needs it most that she's "roughly six feet tall".

Adisa Cummings

Best Man

You would think Disa and Bari were twins growing up. Wherever Disa went he always had his little shadow following close behind. Bari's entire notion of cool was defined by his big brother's influence. Although their styles are polar opposites as adults, they are truly two sides of the same coin and share an unbreakable bond.

Kianäh Rodriguez

Bridesmaid

Kianäh, or "KiKi", is Jamilläh's youngest sister and quite possibly the kindest person you will ever have the pleasure of meeting. She survived through years of Jamilläh-parenting and now they have so much in common that it's hard to believe Jamilläh once had to yell at her for trying to flush the cat down the toilet ("But he's a punk; he can't even swim")!

Isaac Shapiro

Groomsman

Since their days working together at Camp Ramapo, this seemingly unlikely duo bonded over the mutual contempt of their peers. Their bond was further solidified through their love of anime and video games over the years. Isaac has been the constant voice of encouragement and reason through every ill-conceived venture and great endeavor.

Alicia Stoeckel

Bridesmaid

Alicia is Jamilläh's newest sister-in-law! She fits right in with the crazy pack of siblings and already joins Jamilläh in rolling her eyes at Shaynne's dad jokes and horribly-timed puns. When she's not doing super awesome things like goat yoga, she's helping Jamilläh find her way through muddy pumpkin patches. Jamilläh is using her wedding as an opportunity to smuggle her way into Alicia's life even further.

Brandon Stoeckel

Groomsman

Brandon is the big brother of the bride and often the most calm and reserved, but don't let that fool you. Whenever he isn't coming up with awesome one-liners he uses his comedic talents to take well-placed and friendly jabs at his siblings. Brandon and Bari had their first meeting at Barcade, deep in the heart of hipster territory in Brooklyn back in the summer of 2014. After wading through a sea of scarves and handlebar mustaches they managed to bond over their love of old-school arcade games and beer.

Zakiya Cummings

Bridesmaid

Zakiya is the soon-to-be sister-in-law of Jamilläh, although it kind of feels like that's always been the case. Thankfully, she is very forgiving when Jamilläh falls asleep during a movie ("You can't hang, Jamilläh!" is probably the thing she says most), and Jamilläh is very forgiving when she gets caught with a prank meant for Jabari (although the soy sauce-soda switch was particularly unpleasant).

Robert Taylor

Groomsman

When Rob's days of being the neighborhood delinquent were drawing to a close, fate assigned him a much more challenging task: Bari's wingman. Whenever there was a seemingly impossible task to be completed, Rob and Bari never backed down from the challenge. They shared a lot of adventures together growing up in Queens cruising around in Rob's 96 Malibu. That old rust bucket is still alive and kicking, and the car is still OK too.

Robin Caselli

Bridesmaid

Robin and Jamilläh met at Stony Brook University and were both horribly awkward going to a concert together (cue sitting in silence on the train). Fortunately, they ended up living in the same city in South Korea and very quickly were spending every minute together. When they returned to Stony Brook, they became roommates and Robin was often entrusted with watering the plants and 'feeding the Bari' when Jamilläh was away.

Shäynne Rodriguez

Groomsman

Last but certainly not least. Shäynne, the younger brother of the bride, has been a welcome addition to the lives of the happy couple. Shäynne and Bari started hanging out New Year's Day back in 2017 and bonded over their love of basketball, fitness, and music. They decided to play some basketball that day to start the new year off right with a good workout. They had no idea of knowing that they would start the longest winning streak in LA Fitness history and as a team are still undefeated to this very day.
