Jabari and Jamilläh ALMOST first met in JFK Airport on their way to teach English in South Korea when Jabari waved at Jamilläh, recognizing her from a Facebook group. Sadly, Jamilläh, who was overwhelmed (first time flying!), glared and did not wave back. When they landed in South Korea, Jabari helped her with her luggage, and she realized he was really just an incredibly kind person (who, thankfully, does not hold grudges). They quickly became inseparable friends during a month-long orientation in Korea. Because they were placed on opposite ends of the Korean peninsula, Bari traveled 5 hours both ways on weekends to see Jamilläh (and never once complained)! He proposed 6 years later, on the same day that he helped her with her luggage and they spoke for the very first time.
