When 2020 decided to ruin my plans to propose atop Grandview Park in San Francisco (where we had our first date), I had to get creative. On a perfect drizzly Seattle day, Jamila and I decided to take a hike out to a climbing area near and dear to my heart, Little Si. I had bought the ring weeks before and was waiting for the right moment when I thought, what better time than now. On the way down from the hike we found a nice view point, I dropped to one knee and asked Jamila to marry me. She didn't respond but I could tell the answer was yes.
