Town Green
Take a walk around town! Just a minute from the Inn. The historic park is located in the center of Litchfield and is lined with trees, memorials, shops, restaurants, and many other historic buildings. We love walking around the Green on a beautiful Fall day!
Arethusa Farm Ice Cream
This is our favorite ice cream! Just 2 miles down the road from the Inn. Enjoy an award-winning selection of local produce and sweet treats from Arethusa Farm. Our flavor recommendations: Tom - "anything chocolate"; & Jamie - "definitely the pumpkin in October".
Hopkins Vineyard
We went here on one of our first dates! Needless to say we had a blast. Hopkins winery offers tasting and sales of award-winning estate bottled wines. The Hayloft Wine Bar serves wine by the glass in a relaxed setting with a beautiful view of Lake Waramaug.
Litchfield Distillery
Nestled in the hills of northwest Connecticut, Litchfield Distillery offers a diverse portfolio of award-winning spirits crafted from the regionally harvested ingredients. We highly recommend signing up for one of their free tours!
Petraroia Deli
Great place for breakfast or lunch serving sandwiches, grab and go salads, and prepared foods 3 minutes from the Inn on the green!
@ the Corner
We love the food here! (The roasted Brussel Sprouts are a must try). Less than 5 minutes down the road, @ the Corner serves modern American cuisine through seasonal menus that highlight the freshest local ingredients.
Market Place Tavern
Great place to grab lunch or dinner overlooking the Litchfield Green! Built in 1812 to hold British prisoners of war, its one of the oldest public buildings in town and served as a working jail until 1992. They serve elevated American tavern fare alongside craft beers and cocktails featuring local spirits.
Verdict: Rooftop Bar
The Verdict is a charming rooftop bar at the Abner Hotel right on the town green. We’ve been before and loved the vibe - it’s a great spot for a drink!
Bohemian Pizza and Tacos
This restaurant is right down the road from the Litchfield Inn. A casual, fun spot to stop in for a quick bite!
Fairview Farm Golf Course
The par 72 public golf course in Harwinton, Connecticut is picturesque and playable for golfers of any level. The scenic 170 acre property includes a driving range and two-tiered putting green.
Lake Waramaug
Check out one of Tom's favorite routes for cycling! Lake Waramaug is a 656-acre lake occupying parts of the towns of Kent, Warren and Washington in Litchfield County, Connecticut. Take a scenic drive and maybe stop at the Smithy Market in New Preston, CT just down the street for a sandwich and coffee. There are several hikes around the lake as well.
Bantam Lake
Bantam Lake is the largest natural lake in Connecticut, covering 947 acres. Litchfield Paddle offers rental Stand-Up Paddleboards, Kayaks, and Canoes, along with all the necessary equipment + Guided Tours.
White Memorial Conservation Center
A land preserve with lots of fun walks/hikes, especially in the Fall. We recommend the Boardwalk!
Spa At Litchfield Hills
Across the street from the Inn, you'll find a wellness spa offering massages and facials, a nail salon, and a full service hair salon - perfect for some pre-wedding pampering!
