Flight
Florence Airport is approximately 40 minutes by car to Lucca city center or an hour and fifteen minutes by train (making local stops). You can expect a connection if flying into this airport. If you are traveling in a group and would like to pre-arrange a pickup from the Florence airport in a mini-van (which can hold 7-8 people), the cost is approximately 130 euros. A mini-bus that can hold 16-19 people costs approximately 250 euros. Flight
If you choose to fly into Milan there is a scenic, high-speed train ride to Florence that takes about 1.5 hours. From there, you could rent a car in Florence and arrive in Lucca in 40 minutes. A less expensive option than renting a car is to take a second train from Florence to Lucca city center, which takes an hour and fifteen minutes. Pisa airport is technically the closest airport to the wedding venue, but all flights into Pisa require a connection and tend to be pricier than flights to Florence. The airport is 25 minutes from Lucca city center by car; 50 minutes by train. Train schedules and tickets can be found here: https://www.trenitalia.com/ A taxi should cost approximately 80 euros. If you are traveling in a group and would like to pre-arrange a pickup from the Pisa airport in a mini-van (which can hold 7-8 people), the cost is approximately 90 euros. Hotel
Hotel is a 7 minute walk from the venue. We've reserved a hotel block here, make sure to provide last name Morin/Cooper when booking your reservation at info@tenutasanpietro.com.
Travel Note
Ubers and Lyfts are not available in Lucca. We highly recommend downloading the app, "apptaxi" BEFORE traveling as the app may not function properly with a US number while in Italy. Or Click below to connect with a local Taxi company.
Rental Car
If you plan to rent a car in Italy, it's advised to obtain an international driving permit from AAA for $20. All Italian car rental agencies will rent a car to you without an international driver's license, but if you get pulled over, you may get a ticket for not having one!
Travel Note
Lucca city center will have the most choices in terms of accommodations and is approximately 20 minutes (by car) & 40 minutes (by train) to the wedding venue. Accommodations are also available in houses/hotels/villas/AirBnBs in the hills closer to the wedding venue. Please feel free to explore other options if you prefer.
