Disneyland Park
If you are traveling with young kids or you love amusement parks, I highly recommend going to Disneyland! Just 20 miles north of my wedding venue. I have fond memories of going to Disneyland (only special occasions of course) with my parents and sister.
Fashion Island
Fashion Island is a high-end outdoor shopping mall near the coast. Fun to just walk around, enjoy the views, as well as yummy restaurants and good shopping!
Balboa Island
Balboa Island has a long boardwalk where you can go on a stroll or go for a bike ride. Lots of restaurants, ice cream shops, boutiques, etc. You can also rent kayaks and paddleboards and take them out into the bay.
Sawdust Art Festival
Highly recommend! Perfect summer activity. Enjoy live music, pottery, hand crafted jewelry, beautiful art for sale, and so much more!
Mission San Juan Capistrano
Another must! Especially for history buffs! Established by Spanish missionaries in 1776 to convert Native Americans in the area to Christianity, today the mission is a historic landmark in San Juan Capistrano with a chapel, a museum and gardens. In addition to rotating exhibits of artwork and artifacts, the mission has a permanent collection of several thousand historical objects, including an 1875 map of the mission, a Mexican coin from 1855, Native American tools and much more.
Crescent Bay
August is prime beach weather in SoCal. Enjoy one of my favorite beaches in Laguna. Gorgeous views, free neighborhood parking, public bathrooms, and lifeguards on site. I do recommend arriving early as it gets very crowded in the summer.
