Wedding Party

Heather & Jamie

Bride & Groom

*record scratch* *freeze frame* Yep, that's us. You're probably wondering how we ended up in this situation. 20 years after our initial meeting in Latin II, we are tying the knot! We always seemed to run parallel, having mutual friends, going to the same events… acquaintances. It wasn’t until 2019 that the stars aligned and we decided our friendship was meaningless enough to risk losing one another if things didn’t pan out. 😅😉 Now that you’re up to speed… We asked our bridal party to write a blurb about themselves, and we love how they turned out! See you in October!

Buster Spencer

Officiant

Don’t come between this man and his 3 F’s… 1. Fishing 2. Family 3. Food …in that order. Luckily enough, we were able to offer all three when asking him to do us this big favor. We couldn’t be more excited to have Heather’s dad join us at the end of the aisle as he leads the ceremony.

Jackson, Brady, and Lane

Jr. Groomsmen and Hon. Man of Honor

The bride’s three sons are so excited to officially welcome “Jamal” to the family!

Heidi and Harper Spencer

Flower Girls

Nieces to the bride, Heidi and Harper have graciously accepted the role of toddling flower girls! It’ll be practice for when their Mommy and Daddy tie the knot soon after!

Ava Reedy

Jr. Bridesmaid

This Disney, book, baseball, and OBX loving little lady is Jamie and (soon to be) Heather’s niece, Ava! We are so happy to have her join us as a Junior Bridesmaid!

Kyla Quintanilla

Matron of Honor

“Hello, lovely people! If you're reading this, you must be checking out Heather's wedding website, and that means you're in for a treat. Let me introduce myself: I'm Kyla. I'm Heather's long-distance best friend that perhaps you have always wondered if I even exist, or if this is Heather's longest running joke where she has just created a fictitious character. I’m honored to stand by her side as she embarks on a new chapter of her life with Jamie. Seeing Heather with someone who cherishes her and recognizes her worth is a beautiful thing, and I couldn't be happier for her. Jamie has won the lottery in Heather, and I am over the moon that she has found a partner so worthy of everything that she is.”

Danielle Spencer

Bridesmaid

“The brides (not so little) sister - lover of makeup, the Washington Nationals, and iced coffee. I’m ready to party after passing the CPA exam!”

Andrea McGann

Bridesmaid

“I met Heather when we both were 17. She was walking out of Cato's and the first thing out of my mouth was " Who does this B think she is?" Needless to say the rest is history. We've watched each grow from being wild teenagers to blossoming into hard working mothers. Heather has always been the one to tell me what I needed to hear and not always what I wanted to hear, for that I appreciate her more than she'll ever know. She is my inspiration and what I would consider us having more of a sister relationship due to her genuine, loving , trustworthy, amazing nature. My sister wife, I cannot wait to see what else life has in store for you and you're happily ever after with Jamie!”

Jill McDunn

Bridesmaid

“Heather and I first met over 10 years ago when I was looking to borrow the Polar Express and we have been best friends ever since. We have the most amazing kind of friendship where no matter how many days (or weeks) go by, we can pick right back up where we left off! Whether we are sitting in silence, taking a nap, cooking each other dinner, drinking wine, shopping, watching some weird movie Heather picked out, or playing card slapping games, I know I have a partner in crime until the end! We have been through so many seasons of life together. She is the Leslie to my Ann, the Bey to my Hive and I am honored to be by her side as she says 'I do!' to the love of her life! “

Sina May

Bridesmaid

“It makes sense that the first time I really got to spend time with Heather was one of the most intimate and new times in my life. She was photographing my newborn son. She’s continued to be there with me through those new times, boring times, fun times, and hard times. She’s the kind of friend who doesn’t give me a hard time for not writing this bio for literally 6+ months and it’s just one of the many reasons I love her. I’m so happy she finally has someone who can sit with her through life as a true partner in Jamie, and can’t wait to continue sharing our experiences as an even bigger family. We are all good football players.”

Tasha May

Bridesmaid

“I’m not really sure when or where we first initially met; at the salon for Lane’s first haircut or with my sister Sina. But what I do know is that, despite all the blurriness and indefinite details, I am so endlessly grateful to have Heather in my life. She’s the type of friend that feels like she’s always been there, she’s like family. I didn’t really know Jamie until they started dating, but now as cliche as it may sound, I can see he is her missing puzzle piece!!”

Kenny Tewalt

Best Man

“I'm Kenny. I've known Jamie since elementary school. We had most of our classes together from then through high school. We also were in the Boy Scouts, both of us helping to push the other to make Eagle Scout. Although we went to different Colleges, we were close and I spent many a weekend at JMU hanging out with Jamie. I the years after college Jamie and I stayed close and hung out regularly, even becoming co-workers for 5 years. I've known Heather since High School and became friends with her in the years after through an evolution of mutual friends culminating in her and Jamie dating. I could not be happier for the two of them!”

Matt Reedy

Groomsman

“I am Jamie’s older brother. Jamie and I did almost everything together. Playing baseball, video games, playing in the creek or woods for hours. Of course through the younger years we fought sometimes, but all in all we had a wonderful childhood. I had never really heard Jamie talk about how happy he is/was until he met Heather. It’s great to see him finally find his other half, as I was fortunate enough to find mine 20+ years ago. I wish you both the best on your new journey.”

Dale Lynn

Groomsman

“Jamie and I grew up together as kids as our parents were friends. We would ride bikes all over gods creation, sleigh riding, vacations etc.. We have worked together, played countless hours of video games online, bitched about how shitty Washington football whatever is, and enjoyed countless beers and even more laughs! I’m very excited for the love and marriage of Jamie and heather, it goes together like a horse and carriage! Cheers”

Kyle Higdon

Groomsman

“Telecommunications Lineman, enjoys being outdoors either hiking with my fiance and our dog leo, or sitting in a treestand for hours in the cold to not see a damn thing. Father of 2 girls who are my whole world love to help coach thier sport teams. Jamie and Heather are the real deal, I've known them both for years I ran into them when they first started dating and it made me so happy to see them together they really are perfect together.”

Chris Perez

Groomsman

“I met Jamie at college and knew him as the freshman who preferred to sleep on a beer covered couch then go back to the dorm. I can’t share a lot of details about college but our shenanigans eventually led us to living together in a party house, located at the center of the historic “JMU Springfest Riot” of 2010. #isurvivedspringfest2010 After the craziness of college, we both hung around Harrisonburg and moved in with my future wife. Jamie has been there for some of the craziest and most important events of my life, and I’m stoked to return the favor.”

Nick Bass

Groomsman

“Nick is a Longtime friend of both the bride and groom. He and the groom first met as young kids at the volleyball courts of the downriver canoe company where their parents played volleyball once a week in summers. They remained friends through high school and later at JMU. Both have since worked together and share a mutual love for hunting, nature, and rocks. The bride and Nick first met in high school through mutual friends and as frequent visitors to the bowling alley or big lots parking lot; with having those as the only places to hang out as a teenager at the time. Nick and his wife Amanda have recently been seen attending concerts and parties together with Jamie and Heather and do thoroughly enjoy hanging around these great friends.”
