Cocktail or Semi-Formal Attire Tips from Masterclass instructor Tan France: Guide to Cocktail Attire for Men Cocktail dress code involves casual suits and dress shirts for men. To adapt cocktail attire for more formal occasions, like weddings, add a tie or bow tie. For events that require cocktail attire, you can wear something more fashion-forward than your business suit. Stick to wool suits in dark colors in winter; for summertime and outdoor cocktail events, you can wear a light-colored suit in a breathable material like seersucker or linen. Oxfords, loafers, and brogues are acceptable footwear choices. Depending on the setting, you may be able to wear a leather or suede boot, but avoid sneakers. Guide to Cocktail Attire for Women Cocktail dresses typically hit around the knee and come in a variety of colors, the most classic of which is the little black dress. As a general rule, stay away from both maxi and mini dresses and opt for something in between. You don't have to wear a cocktail dress to a cocktail party, though—jumpsuits, pantsuits, blazers, and blouses in fine materials are all great alternatives. For fancier cocktail events, like New Year's Eve parties, break out the flashier pieces, like sequins and beaded items. Finish your look with dress shoes like high heels or nice flats.
Weather permitting, the ceremony will be held outdoors in grassy terrain (stilettos will not be your bff). If weather does not allow for the ceremony to be held outdoors, it will be moved into the barn. Cocktail hour will be outdoors, weather permitting. The reception will be held in a semi-climate controlled barn.
After the ceremony, the immediate family of the couple along with the bridal party will be taking photos for around an hour. Guests will be directed to the cocktail hour location where small bites and drinks will be flowing. Dinner will be served around 6 pm, with dancing to follow.
We are not providing any formal transportation for the event, but our ceremony and reception are taking place at the same venue. There is ample parking for those who feel comfortable driving. Please stay safe and default to a ride service or carpooling if you plan to drink.

Please note this will be an adults-only celebration. While we adore your children, our venue does not have the room for your little ones, therefore, we are only able to accommodate children in the wedding party at our reception. We hope you are able to join us anyway and enjoy a relaxed evening with friends and family! We can't wait to celebrate with you!
We are at capacity with our venue which means we are sadly unable to accommodate additional guests. We will only be able to accommodate those listed on your invitation. If you have any questions, please reach out.

As previously mentioned, the ceremony is being held on grassy terrain. While it can be wheelchair accessible, the venue has a golf cart as well as a side-by-side for accommodating those who may have difficulty getting to the ceremony site.
We’ll be serving light snacks during cocktail hour, followed by dinner, and of course dessert.
Being a family that has dietary restrictions, we definitely want to make sure you enjoy your time and meal on our wedding day. Please let us know as soon as possible about your dietary needs so provisions can be made.
