Our story began in the most unexpected of places – cruising around Mill Creek Market in Geneva on scooters in middle school. I (Jamie) couldn’t help but notice Drew’s windswept hair – I thought he looked like a young Justin Bieber, and in that innocent, unforgettable moment, I got my first taste of what people mean when they say “love at first sight.” As we headed into our freshman year of high school, our connection sparked into young love. We gave dating a try, but timing wasn’t quite on our side – Drew realized he found more peace in the pages of a book than on his phone texting with me. So…we parted ways. But our story was far from over. Over the years, we grew to be close friends. Since Drew was one of my brother Mike’s best friends, Drew and I were constantly in each other’s lives, sharing inside jokes, memories, and a deepening connection. While romance faded into the background, our friendship quietly became the foundation of something much bigger. It wasn’t until the summer before our senior year in high school that something shifted. Somewhere between late-night conversations and easy laughter, we both realized that the person we looked forward to talking to the most was each other – and this time, it wasn’t fleeting. Drew now found joy not just in his books but also with me :) . We officially began dating and never looked back. From the halls of Geneva High School to college days in Oxford at Miami of Ohio, and then onto building a life together in the heart of Chicago, we grew up and grew closer. Nine years of adventures, challenges, and laughter later, Drew got down on one knee, and I said “YES!” (with joyful jumping included). Our love is rooted in friendship and strengthened by the way we encourage each other every day. We are each other’s biggest fans, loudest cheerleaders, and most trusted companions. From two kids on scooters to two hearts in sync, our journey as husband and wife is just beginning. We ask for your prayers as we begin this beautiful new chapter of our lives together.
