October of 2015, it was Jamie's second week living in Manhattan - and it was Halloween weekend. Her evening started with dinner with her roommate Lindsey and her friends. Once everyone was ready to go out to the bars, Jamie heard some friends (and her cousin, Sarah) were going to Tribeca's M-15. On this same evening, Azriel was sitting on his couch in Brooklyn, watching a Knicks game, very content. But his new roommate convinced him to go out in downtown Manhattan. Off he went to a bar called M-15. When she walked into the bar, Jamie was surprised to see her college friend's - best friend (both named Danielle). She was overjoyed to see a friendly face! Danielle was with her new roommates - they were part of a non-profit fellowship based in Brooklyn, called Repair the World. After meeting almost everyone in the group, Jamie began dancing with her new friends - a tall bearded man came up and introduced himself as the one roommate she hadn't met yet - his name was Azriel. As they both weren't dressed up for Halloween, he had the perfect opener (as you may know, now a Halloween rarely goes by without a big party at their apartment). They pretty much hit it off right away - moving over to the corner of the bar to have a more intimate conversation. That night they talked about New York City, their parents and families and of course their love of food. That next Tuesday, Azriel asked Jamie out on their first official date - she picked the spot, a small bar in the West Village. And well, the rest is history - they have been pretty inseparable since that Halloween weekend.
