Omar and I met the winter of 2017 on the University of Illinois campus. Long story short, he met my mom, renting from Smith Apartments (she was his landlord). A couple years later, Omar was in ROTC at the U of I and invited our Uncle Phil to speak at a Veteran's Day ceremony to talk about his time in the Air Force.  This ceremony is where my mom, Chris, introduced us. Did you ever think?! We had three wonderful months getting to know each other in Champaign before Omar had to leave for Texas to begin his journey as a fighter pilot. I stayed in Illinois to pursue my dreams of becoming a certified veterinary technician. We have been doing life together yet apart for almost four year now and are ready to finally be together!
