Santa Barbara is surrounded by the Santa Ynez Valley that has some great smaller vineyards. This is about a 45 min drive from downtown Santa Barbara. There are lots of tours that you can do-our first time we visited Santa Barbara in 2012 we used DeeTours (https://www.deetoursofsb.com/ -loved them!). Santa Barbara is also known for their Urban Wine Trail which is a series of tasting rooms from the Santa Ynez Valley sprinkled all around downtown SB. No need to rent a car, you can just walk from tasting room to tasting room! https://urbanwinetrailsb.com/the-trail-map/
