Things To Do

Cheddar's Scratch Kitchen

Cheddar's Scratch Kitchen

5151 Noggle Way, Indianapolis, IN 46237

Cheddars is one of those places where you can order something new each time and feel confident that it's always going to be delicious. It might not be *as* good as your grandma's cooking, but we promise it's pretty close!

Swig

Swig

5145 Noggle Way, Indianapolis, IN 46237

Listen, we weren't exactly sure about Swig or the whole "dirty soda" thing at first either. Then, we hopped in the busy drive thru line once and never stopped going back. If you love flavored drinks and mocktails, Swig is worth a stop! Mackenzie describes Swig as "well mixed cocktails without the alcohol" and "a Polar Pop on steroids." James's favorite order is the "This Bliss" (diet coke + cranberry + fresh lime) and Mackenzie's go-to is "Berry Boujee" (sprite + lemonade + strawberry puree + fresh lime).

Holcomb Gardens at Butler University

Holcomb Gardens at Butler University

Garden Road, Indianapolis, IN 46208

Holcomb Gardens is located on the campus of Butler University and it's also where James proposed to Mackenzie! Holcomb Gardens is a beautiful place to walk and enjoy nature. It's also only 15 minutes away from Broad Ripple Village, where James and Mackenzie had their first date.

RH Indianapolis | The Gallery at The DeHaan Estate

RH Indianapolis | The Gallery at The DeHaan Estate

4501 North Michigan Road, Indianapolis, IN 46228

RH Indianapolis is a restaurant and Restoration Hardware showroom that was once the home of Indianapolis philanthropist and art collector Christel DeHaan. For Mackenzie's fellow book nerds out there, Indianapolis based author John Green created the mansion in his bestselling novel "Turtles All the Way Down" based on his visits to this property. After DeHaan's passing in 2020, the property was bought and reimagined by Restoration Hardware. It's free to walk around the furniture galleries and admire the magnificence of the mansion without eating at the restaurant. There are also wine bars and lounges located within the galleries. If you want to have lunch or dinner at the restaurant, we highly encourage you to make a reservation. James and Mackenzie wandered the galleries and gardens on one of the first few dates!

Main & Madison Market Café

Main & Madison Market Café

100 North Main Street, Franklin, IN 46131

James and Mackenzie love Main & Madison. From the savory quiche and fresh coffee to the homemade pastries and top-tier turkey sandwiches--Main & Madison is the best! It's open from 6:30am-2:00pm daily.

The Historic Artcraft Theatre

The Historic Artcraft Theatre

57 North Main Street, Franklin, IN 46131

Nothing invites more charm and nostalgia than the Artcraft Theatre. Nestled in the heart of downtown Franklin, the Artcraft offers an old-school movie-going experience. The Artcraft only shows movies that are 10+ years old, serves locally grown popcorn, and includes a performance skit (aka a shortened play of the movie) from the "Short Attention Span Theatre" before each showing. Get ready for pre-movie cartoons and to sing the National Anthem, too! James and Mackenzie especially love visiting the Artcraft for Christmas movies. Check out the Artcraft movie schedule by visiting the website below.

Wild Geese Bookshop

Bayberry Spa

Bayberry Spa

1 North Madison Avenue, Greenwood, IN 46142

There's never a bad time to pamper yourself! While you're in town, book a massage or facial at the charming Bayberry Spa. Mackenzie has been going here for years and has always had a relaxing and positive experience.
