Question

Do you have a registry?

Answer

Having you celebrate with us is the greatest gift of all! For those who have asked about gifts, we’ve put together a registry to help us as we begin married life and our journey as homeowners. You can find the registry here on our wedding website under the "registry" tab or by visiting zola.com/registry/jameslovesmackenzie. We’re incredibly grateful for your support in every form.

Question

Is there a dress code?

Answer

Our dress code is cocktail attire. We would love for you to dress up with us! For ladies, think tea-length, midi, or knee-length dresses. Floral patterns and summer colors are encouraged. For gentlemen, suits and ties are preferred. The wedding party will wear light blues. We ask that our guests avoid wearing any colors that are traditionally reserved for the Bride.

Question

What time should I arrive?

Answer

Our ceremony will start promptly at 5:30 PM. Please arrive by 5 PM so you have plenty of time to park, enter the building, and to take your seat for the ceremony.

Question

Are kids welcome?

Answer

We are so excited to celebrate with all of our family and friends! However, due to venue limitations, we kindly ask that only those named on your invitation attend. If you have additional questions, please contact Mackenzie and James directly.

Question

Can I bring a date?

Answer

While we would love to celebrate with as many people as possible, there are restrictions on how many people we are able to host at our venue. Due to these venue limitations, we kindly ask that only the guests listed directly by name on your invitation attend. If you have received a plus one, that will be clearly listed on your invitation as "Your name + Guest". If you have any questions, please contact Mackenzie and James directly.

Question

Will there be parking available?

Answer

Yes! The Barn at Bay Horse Inn has an abundance of parking spots located a few steps from the entrance.

Question

Can I take pictures during the ceremony?

Answer

We are having an unplugged ceremony. This means that once the ceremony begins, our officiant will ask that all phones are silenced and put away. The greatest gift you can give us is being fully present with us as we say "I do." We have hired an amazing photographer who will capture this moment for us, and we promise to share the pictures with you as soon as we receive them. We invite you take take as many photos and videos as you would like during cocktail hour and the reception--please share those with us, too!

Question

Will the ceremony or reception be outdoors?

Answer

Nope! Our ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception will all be hosted indoors + with air conditioning. During cocktail hour, guests will be able to hang out on the patio, which is shaded/covered.

Question

What’s the schedule for the day? When does the wedding end?

Answer

We recommend all guests arrive by 5pm for the 5:30pm ceremony. Cocktail hour will follow the ceremony and take place from 6-7pm. The reception will begin at 7pm. The newlyweds will make their grand exit at 10:30pm.

Question

What's for dinner?

Answer

Come hungry: we'll be having pasta for dinner!

Question

Will there be a bar?

Answer

Yes! Drinks are on us. We will have an open bar starting during cocktail hour and lasting throughout the evening. Our venue's policy restricts anyone from bringing outside alcohol on property. Please respect this policy and make use of the open bar :)

Question

Do you have any hotel recommendations?

Answer

We are so thankful that you are traveling the distance to be with us on our big day! Under the "Travel" tab, you'll find hotels we recommend.

Question

Is there transportation to and from the hotels to The Barn at Bay Horse Inn?

Answer

We do not currently have a hotel block or shuttle service planned for our wedding. The best transportation options are driving or taking an Uber/Lyft. While Ubers and Lyfts are available in the area, be aware that there may be extended wait times. The amount of Uber/Lyft drivers can be unpredictable in the area.

Question

I have a food allergy. Can I make a special request?

Answer

Our cocktail hour and reception dinner will have gluten free and vegetarian options. If you have a specific allergy, please contact James and Mackenzie directly so we can provide an alternative.
