James and Sami met back in high school at Chelsea, where James was a grade below Sami. They graduated just a year apart - Sami in 2020 and James in 2021. Life took them in different directions for a bit, but fate brought them back together at Faster Horses in July of 2022. From that weekend on, they have been absolutely inseparable! Not long after reconnecting, they started dating and quickly realized this was something special. By October 2022, they were living together, and just a couple of months later, they brought home their sweet pup, Bruno. He instantly became their world. In January 2023, they renovated and moved into their first rental home together, and in February, their little family grew again with the arrival of Mia Rose - affectionately called their "Dog-daughter" (Dogaughter). Mia and Bruno truly brought so much love and laughter into their lives. That August, Sami & James reached a huge milestone when they bought their first home together. Over time, they've built a life filled with travel, adventures, and so many shared memories - whether its road trips to Port Charlotte FL, Summer days at the family cottage on Higgins Lake, wandering Mackinaw Island together, or screaming on roller coasters at Cedar Point. Then, on December 7th, 2024, James proposed at the Toledo Zoo Lights with Sami's cheer team, her auntie, and her best friend all there to witness the moment! Sami had no idea it was coming - she was in camo hunting pants and completely caught off guard - but, it was the easiest YES of her whole life. From the moment they reconnected, they both knew this was it. No doubts, no second thoughts - just love, laughter, and the certainty that they were meant to spend forever together!
