Other hotel options

1. Homewood Suites by Hilton Price: $ (4 person room with 2 queen beds is around $160 a night during the weekend of our wedding, breakfast is included) Pros: Located across the street from the JW Marriott hotel, where the wedding will be. If you are looking for a slightly cheaper alternative to your stay, this hotel could be a good option because it is so close to the wedding venue, which would save you money on transportation. InterContinental Price: $$ (4 person room with 2 queen beds is around $210 a night during the weekend of our wedding, breakfast NOT included) Pros: Located down the street from the JW Marriott. Cons: More expensive than both the JW Marriott and the Homewood Suites. Website: https://www.ihg.com/intercontinental/hotels/us/en/santo-domingo/sdqic/hoteldetail/concierge

Passports and Covid Tests

Passport processing may take quite a long time, so if you are planning on attending the wedding it would be very wise to start the process immediately. There is an option to expedite the process, but that will include an extra fee. Covid tests, as of now, are not required to enter the Dominican Republic. It is, however, required to obtain a negative test prior to entering the US (it doesn't have to be PCR, it can be a rapid antigen). Usually the hotel where you are staying can help you with booking an appointment to get tested, so check with them. To see the CDC order concerning tests upon re-entry into the US, visit this link https://www.cdc.gov/quarantine/pdf/Global-Airline-Testing-Order-RPWSigned-Encrypted-p.pdf

Flight

Airport - SDQ

Aeropuerto Internacional Las Américas (SDQ) is the only airport that allows you to fly directly to the city of Santo Domingo. We would suggest flying into this airport for our wedding given that it will require the least amount of transportation to where you choose to stay.
