Maid of Honor
LaTasha is my younger sister and has ALWAYS been my very first best friend in the world. She smiles when I can't and really loves me as much as she hates saying it. Tasha is the type of sister people pray for. I thank God for her, daily. Tasha would tear down this earth for me and it feels great to say I have my sister in my corner. She tells me when I'm being a brat and when I'm 99.9% of the time right about everything. She is my therapist throughout our lives and my fighter(literally) when it came down to it. Every time I imagined my wedding day I always pictured both of my sisters would be standing by my side. I remember a time when Tasha told me, "James has to be the best guy IN LIFE & any fool can see that" I couldn't have imagined this day without her as my Maid of Honor.
Matron of Honor
My baby sister Brittany, as I call her when she's not around "Babygirl". This woman has been an emotional ROCK for me when times have gotten tough. Brittany is my poetry partner and Beyonce Be-hive partner in crime. She is my secret keeper, my friend, my rider, but still my annoying baby sister. She's the sister that gets me all hyped up and then calms me down LOL! I tell people that's my sister & my best friend. Every time I imagined my wedding day I always pictured both of my sisters would be standing by my side. I would never have it any other way on this day. Thanking God everyday that you are going to be apart of our wedding day as my Matron of Honor.
Bridesmaid
I met Loretta 31 years ago in Kindergarten. We have always maintained our friendship throughout the distance and time. She would always lookout for me throughout school and made sure no one ever bothered me. When she got her first job she would always take me to get my nails done. She never let me go without when she had it. We succeeded together and we failed together but we always kept each other going. We have stories to tell our grand kids that would make them laugh for days. I still have yet to meet anyone that clowns as much as I do, like Loretta does. She has always been more like a sister to me than a friend. When you find friends like Loretta, you hold on tight. This journey wouldn't be what it's been without her. Extremely grateful to have her as my bridesmaid.
Bridesmaid
I met Tangela when I met James at work over 5 years ago. I couldn't stand Tangela at first. I called her Ms. Angel to everyone in the office because she was soooooooooo perfect. I grew to love her tremendously, though. I came to find out Tangela was an Angel, but she has been my angel. She has been there through some of my really rough days and some really great days. She became my prayer warrior and I always knew that when I came to her, she would shoot it to me straight in the eyes of God and not her own opinion. How can a girl get through her wedding day without an Angel present? So blessed to have Tangela as my bridesmaid.
Bridesmaid
Tiara, is my youngest cousin. I use to babysit her when she was a few months old and I held that with pride. She was like my own baby. She is grown now and we share such a great friendship. We are the cousins that sit at the family gatherings in the corner and joke about everybody in the room. Tiara is the cousin that has a Connect for everything. Whenever in need of any product or service, Tiara has been there to supply. She has been such a tremendous help this past year and I couldn't have gotten this far without the help. Thankful to have Tiara as my bridesmaid.
Bridesmaid
Christina!!!!! We have been friends for 10 years. I don't have the perfect words to describe our friendship because anything I say will be an understatement. This woman here, is a friend in every aspect of the word. We have been through some tough stuff but we never passed judgement. She always let me be me. She has always told me when James is right and I was wrong. I hated that but she never lied to me. I found a friend that loved me and cared for me. It has been a pleasure to be her friend these past years and I thank God she agreed to be apart of our wedding day as my bridesmaid.
Bridesmaid
Tiara is the only woman I ever latched on to so quickly. It took no time at all to start our friendship. I met her 2 years ago at work. She made it known that we were going to be friends whether I liked it or not. LOL!!! We shared a common love for everything involving food and running track. Its crazy because we realized quickly that we had several mutual friends from high school but we never met each other until we were in our 30's (Call it Destiny). Tiara, is a BOSS!!! I love that about her. She takes charge and doesn't hold back. Tiara is the type of friend that comes to the rescue when you call. She might be late but she will be there! She has opened me up to some knowledge in life that I never even imagined and it's well appreciated. I am thankful to have Tiara as my bridesmaid.
Best Man
Alvirtis and I met 26 years ago playing Little League Football for Rainer Eagles. My family was fairly new to Seattle, Washington and when I found out his family was from Longview, Texas my eyes lit up. It was good to know that his family was from the same area as myself. AJ and I were in constant competition on the football field and basketball court as we often played the same position. As we got older our love for playing basketball kept our bond strong. We pushed each other on the court and in the classroom. AJ has always supported me and has never hesitated to tell me when I am messing up. AJ has been a great friend and I am thankful to have him as my Best Man!
Best Man
Terence (AKA: Mr. Beijing Hairline, AKA: J-Boog) and I met in the halls of Franklin High School in Seattle, Washington 23 years ago. Terence is the type of guy who can take a good joke without getting mad and dish out an even better one. I guess that is what happens when you are the smallest person in the crew! Despite my decision to attend college in Houston, Texas, Terence and I continued our friendship and when Terence was given the opportunity to move to Houston our bond became even stronger. Terence has been there for me through my ups and downs. Not only is Terence an excellent father and friend, he has also been a brother to me. I am honored to have him as my Best Man!
Groomsman
There are not enough words to describe the love I have for my little brother. Dave (AKA; Beaver), is a strong, passionate, loving, good father, brother, and son of God. Leaving Marshall, Texas and moving to Seattle, Washington was hard for us, but I knew we would get through it, because we had each other. Dave and I are alike in so many ways as we both love our family, sports, and the Lord. Dave has been through so much his professional and personal life that most people would have given up on. I am so proud of him and where he is in life and where he is going. His faith in God will always keep him pushing. I am honored to have him as brother and groomsman and even more excited for you to be a part of our special day.
Groomsman
James and I met 19 years ago in Houston, Texas at Texas Southern University. When I arrived to Bruce Hall dorms “J” was one of the first guys I met. He told me he was from Tyler, Texas and we immediately clicked since I was from Marshall. We were roommates, and great friends. We often went through the same struggles during our time TSU (especially with my Lincoln Continental and being broke), but the great thing about it was that we did it together. I could always count on “J” to be my wingman, giving me rides to school, work, and parties. "J” has helped me in the toughest and great times. I don’t remember our first conversation, because he talked so fast I couldn’t understand a word he said, LOL! So I gave him the nickname PIRATE! I can’t wait for him to be part of our special day.
Groomsman
Patrick (AKA: P.Diddy, AKA: Pat, AKA: THE Hairline) and I met 23 years at Franklin High School in Seattle, Washington. The way we met is pretty funny! During lunch my freshman year, a mutual friend of ours jumped in his car and I jumped in too not knowing who he was. I guess you can say, I was hungry (Lol)! Instead of kicking me out of his car, Patrick simply turned around and said, “Man, if you are hungry, I got you.” From that day forward he has been nothing but a friend and big brother to me. We have a unique bond and I have the upmost respect for him and his family. Patrick is my guy, the old man of the group and I am honored to have him as my groomsman.
Groomsman
Paris (AKA: Mr. Fall asleep anywhere, AKA: P) and I met 22 years ago in Seattle, Washington through Patrick Carter at a mutual friend’s event. I would often see Paris at social gatherings, playing basketball, and at my high school. I thought to myself either this guy is following me everywhere I go or we know a lot of the same people. Paris and I clicked as he is a laid back guy like myself and you never knew what he was up too. Throughout our friendship I could depend on him for anything; he was there whether I needed him or not. Paris thank you for being my friend and a brother. I am honored to have him as my groomsman.
Groomsman
Alonzo (AKA: Bear, AKA: The nice Guy) and I met 23 years ago at Franklin High School located in Seattle, Washington. I remember Zo’s car being the Franklin Taxi (LOL)! Everyone drove that car and we all put at least $100 a year worth of oil in that car to keep it running. Zo has been nothing but genuine, kind, and sincere to me. He is someone I looked up to as he was the guy I eventually wanted to emulate in regards to how to treat a woman. I remember once telling myself “I am ready to do what Zo does.” Zo thank you for being a brother and a friend. I am honored to have him as my groomsman.
