We met at work and he was extremely rude the very first day we met. He didn't even shake my hand because he claimed he was "busy". We were partnered together on a work project for 6 months. We started off as co-workers who became great friends. We helped each other get through some good & bad days. James became my rock, my advisor, my friend and vice versa. Of course, we proceeded with caution seeing as though I was in the Human Resources department. Thankfully, that friendship blossomed into something so much greater. He understood my sense of humor and old soul. And I understood that no matter how much I fought, his Afro was not going anywhere. LOL!! We've been together ever since.
James and I decided to take a trip to Bali, Indonesia & Dubai to just love on each other. This was our very first big trip together without the kids. We planned so many activities for the two weeks. On the day before, we rode on ATV's and of course I was feeling like I was invincible and fell off the ATV (TWICE) and gave myself a black eye. We were scheduled to take pictures the next day on the beach. I was completely against the pictures at this point, but James was determined to get me on that beach. We were in one of my favorite places in the world to visit, I couldn't pass that up for a "black eye" and a banged up knee. We were laughing all the way through the pictures because he could barely touch me, because I was so bruised... LOL!! James started to try to explain to me in the middle of posing for our picture that he would have to stay overseas a little longer for his job. He knew this would get me upset. I urged him not to discuss this while we were taking pictures and why would he bring this up at a time like this. He stated" I need to stay longer so we can prepare for our wedding" He got down on one knee with tears in his eyes and asked me to marry him. Of course, I was no longer talking trash anymore. In disbelief, I yell out "Yes James!" We're so excited to celebrate this next chapter in our lives with you.
