We met right before the infamous Quarantine of 2020. We had no idea that we would get a solid 5-6 months of all day, everyday connections. Because of the global shutdown we had time to focus on each other, and we didn't have to worry about making time to fall in love. It just happened, and it was passionate, and patient. The whole world was shut down around us, and all we had to brighten our days were each other. Just us, and three home cooked meals a day together. Falling in love the old fashion way, without the pressures of typical dating is what makes our love so special today. We were able to see each other for who we really are. We conqured obstacles that some couples never have to their entire relationship, during the global shut down. We took everything back to the basics, and it paid off exponentially. All of that, combined with the fact that we somehow managed never to grow tired of one another, explains how we got to this point today. We fell in love in a world full of darkness, if that does not speak to the intensity of our love together… im not sure what will.
After our THIRD trip to Tennesse, and 12 hours in the car at the start of Memorial Day Weekend…James had rented a cabin and made sure it had all the amenities for a relaxing trip to the moutains. We shared a day walking around Gaitlinburg, TN after settling in to out cabin. We otdered pizza and sat in the hot tub. The next day we took the ski lift to the top of the mountain and James proposed under a heart-shaped arbor on the edge of a moutain, in the middle of the Anakeesta Gardens (the plcae Katie wanted to go to the most). We celebrated the perfect proposal by going zip lining and Katie told every passerby that “SHE GETS TO BE A WIFE!!” The bartender cracker a bottle of champagne and we celebrated all through the night. It had been raining the whole trip, but the universe made the sun come out briefly just in time for James to propose.
