FAQs

Question

Where are you registered?

Answer

Your presence at our wedding is present enough! However, for friends and family who have expressed an interest, we’ve created an online registry right here on Zola! Because we are combining households, we have more than enough stuff. So, instead of a traditional wedding registry, we have decided to establish a honeymoon fund. Contributing will help pay for our honeymoon by giving us specific gifts, such as dinners in Italy, pasta making classes, wine tastings, and contributing to the cost of lodging. We can’t wait to head off on our honeymoon, and we’ll be sharing lots of photos of our time. Thank you!

Question

Can I bring a date?

Answer

We have a strict guest list to stay on budget. Our wedding is strictly RSVP only. We will only able to accommodate those listed on your invitation.

Question

What should I wear? What's the dress code?

Answer

The Walker wedding is a semi-formal/Sunday Church attire affair. Collard shirts, sports coats, and slacks for men. Dresses, jumpsuits, and skirts for women. Please no hats or jeans! Party pants and boogie shoes required.

Question

How's the weather in April in Macon?

Answer

Macon's April weather tends to be the perfect time of year. Pants and a light jacket! We will be inside for the wedding ceremony and reception, so wear your best dancing shoes and check the umbrella at the door!

Question

Where are the ceremony and the reception taking place?

Answer

The ceremony and reception are taking place at Fall Line Station on Plum street in downtown Macon. There is a brewery in the front of the building called Fall Line Brewery. Feel free to stop by for house made beer and wine, sandwiches, and activities like corn hole in the beer garden.

Question

Will the ceremony and reception be indoors or outdoors?

Answer

Both the ceremony and reception will be indoors. April showers brings May flowers so we advise bringing a light jacket or an umbrella, but you won't need those to party.

Question

What happens after the ceremony?

Answer

Once J and K are officially hitched, you will be received in to the reception space. Feel free to grab a glass of beer or wine, a plate of food from the buffet, or any of the small plates roaming around. James and Kaitlin will take a few quick pictures, and then be introduced as husband and wife. Make sure you're ready to dance at this time!

Question

Do you have any recommendations for local restaurants, points of interest, or things to do?

Answer

Yes! Check out the Things to Do tab here on our website for specific places to visit. J and K love getting lunch downtown and walking around the shops. Downtown Macon has really flourished of the last few years and we highly encourage you to support the local businesses.

Question

What should I do if I can’t make it?

Answer

You will be missed! If you can not make it to the wedding, please let us know as soon as possible and RSVP “no,” so we can plan accordingly.

Question

Where should guests park? Is parking free?

Answer

There is a FREE parking lot across the street from the wedding venue where Plum and 2nd Street intersect. Alternatively, there is street parking throughout downtown Macon. Parking is free after 8p so make sure to add enough cash to your meter if you plan to park on the street.

Question

Are kids welcome?

Answer

We plan to accommodate those listed on your invitation. Please be aware this is an alcohol friendly event and we understand if you want to plan alternate arrangements for your little ones. Please be sure to include all attendees, including the number of children, on your RSVP.

Question

Do you have a hotel block for guests? Where do you recommend I stay?

Answer

Please refer to the "Travel" tab at the top of your page for information regarding your stay.

Question

Will food and drinks be served at the reception? What kind of food?

Answer

Beer and Wine will be available for those of age. Non-alcoholic beverages such as water, sweet and unsweet tea will be provided as well. Finger foods, a buffet, and dessert table will be available throughout the evening.

Question

Who can I contact with any additional questions?

Answer

We hope we have answered all your questions, but in case you do have other questions, please reach out to J or K! As we get closer to the wedding day, we'll provide a day of contact for any emergencies.
