Jamie & Chris's first date on a dating app was love at first sight. Their first date was at Brass Tacks, a not-so-tacky and notorious bar of avid cocktail lovers in San Francisco, a month before the nationwide shutdown. As the conversation proved to be more than productive, they started at one place, but they were looking for more as the night progressed. First, they went to a pizza place called Doppio Zero on Hayes Street and ordered wine, and you guessed pizza. Then the discussion was so good that they ended the night three hours later with wine. (See a pattern here?) Jamie has lived in the spotlight his whole life, and Chris prefers his quiet part of the world, surrounded by only his closest friends and family. Their worlds collided serendipitously at that moment, and a change of pace was what they needed as things hit off quickly with a shared love of food, travel, and family. After several date nights and quarantined days, they found out that they balance each other out in all the right ways. On September 18, 2021, Jamie reenacted the first date with Chris - going first to Brass Tacks and then ending up at Doppio Zero, where we happily and gleefully proposed to the love and heart of his life. Since then, they were officially married at City Hall with their friends and family on March 14, 2022, just a couple of blocks from their first date spot. Jamie & Chris have been lucky enough to pull through a global pandemic and an economic turndown while still building a life together at their new two-bedroom apartment in Dogpatch, San Francisco. Bearing all this in mind, Jamie & Chris are beyond excited to celebrate with everyone in DC this year and look forward to having you all attend.
