Our journey began with a strong nudge from Jalisa’s sister, Janece, who insisted we’d be a perfect match. Turns out, she knew what she was talking about! Our first date was at a dog park, where Jalisa made a fashionably late entrance—an hour late, to be exact. (Better late than never, right?) Despite the delay, it didn’t take long for sparks to fly—especially between our dogs, Malcolm X and Pixie. The two became inseparable, and so did we. Our second date lasted an incredible five hours, filled with endless conversation and laughter that felt effortless. Two weeks later, we threw caution to the wind and took a spontaneous trip to Denver, discovering our shared love for adventure and exploring new places. That trip was just the beginning. Of course, not every great moment needed a plane ticket. Some of our favorite times have been at home, solving puzzles, laughing over movie marathons, and perfecting our handmade pizza date nights. These quiet, simple moments were just as meaningful as the big adventures. Then came the trip to Seattle, where Corlon proposed to Jalisa in the most unforgettable way. With the breathtaking city as our backdrop, he asked her to marry him—and, of course, she said yes!
