Are children invited?

Answer

We love your kids very much! However, our wedding will be for adults twenty one and up only. We respectfully ask that you make this a parents' night out without the little ones. If you would like support in finding childcare in Chicago, please reach out to Beth & Jalen.

What should I wear to the ceremony and reception?

Answer

The wedding will be black tie! We're excited to see you in your best attire. This means tuxedos and floor length gowns. Anyone who knows Jalen is already aware that he will be inspecting bow ties at the door... :) Rent the Runway, Nuuly, and The Black Tux are great options if you prefer to rent an outfit for the occasion. It's an outdoor wedding. Can I wear heels?

Answer

While our wedding ceremony will be outdoors, it is on a paved surface, not grass. You will be comfortable and safe from any mud or holes! Feel free to rock stilettos.

What's the weather going to be like?

Answer

August in Chicago is typically gorgeous! Think warm and sunny during the day (can be in the high 70s or 80s) and comfortable in the evening (60s or 70s). The average temperatures on August 23rd are a high of 82 F and low of 62 F. Since the ceremony will be after 6pm, you likely won't need sun protection. But if you're adventuring out in Chicago during the day, make sure to bring sunscreen & sunglasses, and hydrate!

Can I bring a Plus One?

Answer

We will be mailing formal invitations in May. Your invitation will be addressed to all the invited guests. Also, the RSVP page on our website will indicate who in your family is invited. If you aren't sure whether you have a plus one, please reach out to Beth & Jalen! Thank you for understanding our guest policy.
