Claire & Jakob
Our Story
Jakob and Claire first met at Vanderbilt where they became close friends over the years. They frequently enjoyed grabbing lunch with friends between classes and attending Vanderbilt sporting events.
Fast forward to many years later when these two reconnected. Jakob lived in his hometown of Indianapolis, while Claire had recently moved back to Houston. When Jakob learned that Claire was traveling to Louisville, KY to visit one of her college friends, he seized the opportunity to ask Claire on a date despite the 2 hr drive.
Although they knew that a long distance relationship would not be easy, they both were sure that they wanted to see each other more often. Jakob worked remotely and regularly traveled to Houston. Claire made trips to Indianapolis to see Jakob’s hometown and experience her first Indy 500 Race.
Jakob moved to Houston in June and proposed on October 4, 2025. They now enjoy watching sports, exploring Houston, spending time with family, and traveling together.
