We technically met several years back in 2018. We both did the same grad program 2 years apart in Baltimore, and I recruited grad school Jake from my old program for some cheap labor. But we met again in 2022 through our mutual friends Stacie and Justin (who is our officiant!) Jake had just moved to the Bay, and Justin invited both of us to go to an A's game. We didn't realize at the time that they were trying to set us up. And they didn't realize at the time that after the game, we had both BARTed back to Temescal and hung out for a while at Temescal Brewing, comparing notes on our favorite fantasy and sci-fi books, giving advice on favorite local places, and just generally hitting it off. 1000 days of dating later, he proposed after an escape room with our closest friends!
