Here in Charlotte, we do not have a "downtown" - we have an "Uptown" Our Uptown area is the Central City area hosting the Spectrum Center, Bank of America Stadium and the Blumenthal Performing Arts Center. If you are looking for a little more of a hoppin' area with walkable restaurants and bars & late-night activities, this is the area for you. Located about 15 minutes West of the venue, and 15 minutes South of our house - Uptown is the most central area of Charlotte. PROS: City location, more walkable with nearby restaurants and bars. South of Charlotte and about 15 minutes from the venue. Very up & coming and popular area with a multitude of breweries, wine bars & restaurants. Sydney lovingly refers to this area as "the land of Chads & Ashleys" [iykyk] Expect slightly higher prices, more in-line with Uptown. While parking in some areas can be tricky, most places offer free or lower priced parking Multiple pocket areas that are very walkable. Some of our favorite spots in this area are: Lower Left: Small local brewery off the beaten track [say hi to Iggy for us if you visit!] Sugar Creek Brewery: Local brewery; great beer and food (paninis, donars, etc.) The Eagle: Fried chicken & whiskey bar
