All because two people swiped right 🄰

One night as I was scrolling through Bumble— I stumbled upon Jake’s profile and thought ā€œOh he’s cute!ā€ So I started to check out his profile and really liked how he sounded. I then noticed his Spotify playlist that was linked and was STOKED to see that he was a metal head AND that he had NO fish photos. šŸ˜‚ (IYKYK!!!) Needless to say I swiped right very fast and sent him a message saying , ā€œHey cutieā€ We ended up matching and he didn’t have Bumble Premium, so he had to pay $13.99 just to see who messaged him — and surprise! it was me. 🄰 A little backstory: I had JUST started seeing someone when I matched with Jake. Once we began talking, though, things took off. I told Jake about the situation and asked if he’d be okay just staying in touch as friends; he said it hurt because he loved our conversations but he respected it and agreed to be friends. (He did highly consider almost blocking me though šŸ˜…šŸ˜… ) We talked from the moment we woke up until we went to sleep and learned so much about each other — the conversation was exceptional and the vibe was 100% there. I started to develop feelings for Jake, so I ended things with the dude I was seeing, and then asked Jake if he was ever going to ask me out. šŸ˜‚ He invited me to dinner a few days later at Azteca’s in Mobile and suggested we see a movie after. I was running a little behind from work and showed up to dinner about 30 minutes late. We talked so much at dinner we missed our originally scheduled movie, so we booked a later showing and drove around Mobile for about 2 hours to kill time. We watched Avatar 2, and when it was over, it was 18° outside, so I sat in Jake’s car to let mine warm up. We kept talking for another 30 minutes and then ended the night with a fantastic kiss. The conversation flowed so easily, the vibe was there, and we felt instant, undeniable chemistry. That was December 23, 2022. On December 31, 2022 I had jokingly texted him around 9am saying we should meet somewhere in the middle of us at midnight to ring in the new year together and so he could be my new year’s kiss! He texted me about 4pm asking if we were still meeting at midnight. I was shooketh! I was totally joking about meeting up- but he was so down- so I said heck yeah!! We met up at about 1130pm in the Hardee’s parking lot off of exit 69 in Pascagoula. We chatted for a while and rang the new year in with a kiss. 🄰 We were talking about dating, so I asked him ā€œSo we doing this?ā€ And he said ā€œyeah, I guess so. Will you be my girlfriend?ā€ And the rest is history 🄰
