Amicalola Falls is a magnificent 729-foot waterfall that’s the third-highest cascading waterfall east of the Mississippi River. If you're feeling adventurous, hike from the bottom of the park up 604 steps, stopping at the viewing platform halfway to the top to enjoy beautiful views of the waterfall. There is also an option to drive to the summit where hikers and tourists can enjoy a meal together at the Cascades restaurant within the Amicalola Falls Lodge.
Gibbs Gardens is a 376-acre estate garden with 250+ acres of artistically landscaped gardens, making it one of the nation’s largest residential estate gardens. The gardens are composed of 18 seasonal color gardens and 6 feature gardens – Daffodil, Manor House, Japanese, Inspiration, Waterlily and “Le Jardin” Color Gardens. The Arbor Cafe also offers a nice assortment of sandwiches and snacks to enjoy during your visit.
Eagle's Rest Park sits at the summit of Mt. Oglethorpe, which was originally the southern terminus of the Appalachian Trail. Morgan's grandfather, John Feight, joined a team to establish Eagle's Rest Park, which offers pavilions for picnics with breathtaking views of the Appalachian Mountains, various short hiking trails around the summit of the mountain, and stone sculptures honoring the Native American tribes who lived in the area.
