One of the many great coffee spots in Savannah. The menu has breakfast items too.
Maureen's personal favorite coffee spot. Get a waffle, you won't regret it.
A lovely coffee chain that employs those with disabilities to help them develop life skills with a paycheck. Jake and I visit one in every city we visit (if it has one). Pro-tip: Add a new pin to the map if you feel inclined. Visitors from all over have pinned their hometowns - us included.
A coffee spot that also serves breakfast.
An award-winning craft coffee spot.
Mid tier coffee connoisseur recommended. IYKYK.
A lovely breakfast spot. There is another location on Forsyth, too.
A Southern biscuit chain to die for. Maureen highly recommends the OJ, too.
A great lunch/dinner spot. You can try Savannah's authentic Artillery Punch (a cocktail designed by Savannah's pirates), catch a glimpse of an entrance to Savannah's secret tunnel network from its pirate days, and learn about the pirates who haunt the location.
A great lunch/dinner spot by the river walk. You can even get drinks to-go to walk around with as Savannah is open-container. Maureen's personal favorite drink to sip while strolling the river walk or Savannah squares is the Victor Palmer.
A fancy dinner spot with some of the best craft cocktails and food in Savannah. Great if you're looking for an upscale dinner or fancy bar to sit at while in town.
This haunted hotel was the first place we ever stayed at in Savannah. We have never managed to get dinner reservations there - which speaks to its popularity, but from what we have heard, the food is incredible and there is live piano music every evening. Alternatively, you can just go to their bar (there is a separate entrance for this), which is basically the go-to watering hole for the locals. If you're lucky, you might even find a penny left behind by the boy ghost Thaddeus, who haunts the downstairs restaurant and bar.
This moody cocktail bar with a speakeasy vibe makes some of the best cocktails in Savannah. It's a small place and first come, first served. However, we were able to get in with a small wait when we found it.
Visit Savannah's award winning, famous ice cream spot. In the heart of downtown, it should be very walkable from wherever you stay. There is always a line out the door, but the ice cream is well worth the wait.
Known for their pralines, this candy shop located on Savannah's River Walk has practically anything sweet you could ever want, including ice cream.
Although we have never been, the bride has been wanting to give it a try. This is a dessert restaurant that serves cocktails and desserts. What more could one possibly ask for?
A gorgeous location for an early morning run or a sunset stroll, Savannah's iconic River Street has a river walk right along the river with a view of the bridge. Along the way you will find coffee shops, hotels, restaurants, local markets, and all sorts of shops. You can also get cocktails to go from any of the restaurants to accompany you on your stroll.
Savannah is known to be one of the most haunted cities in the U.S. With such a history, there are tons of different ghosts tours you can partake in. We personally have done a late night walking tour with Ghost City Tours and very much enjoyed it. There are other tours that incorporate local pub stops along the way. Just google "savannah ghost tours" and you will see the options are endless!
Located along the River Walk, this market place is open 7 days a week and has a variety of kiosks set up selling a variety of things.
A famously historic landmark with a gruesome history, you can visit this house and take a tour and learn all about its history. Those with a serious itch for the paranormal can even pay to partake in an overnight paranormal investigation.
Savannah is home to 22 beautiful squares featuring fountains and Spanish-moss covered oak trees. This one is home to the location of the famous Forrest Gump Bench. Sadly, thanks to abuse by tourists, the bench itself has been relocated to a museum, but you can still visit its place of honor in the square where it was filmed.
A famous wedding location, this is the City's largest park and is picturesque in every way. See the iconic fountain, lounge under an oak tree, or just take a stroll through the large park.
A historic cemetery located downtown, this is the oldest intact cemetery in Savannah. It is also one of the most haunted locations in Savannah and is now closed at night due to aggressive ghostly activity, although those on ghost tours have reported sightings while viewing the cemetery from the outskirts at night. Also take a look at the unique bricks with a rich history on the sidewalks bordering the cemetery.
One of the United States' oldest continuing operating theaters, you can see a variety of shows with award-winning singers, dancers, etc.
Part of Savannah's College of Art and Design, you can visit this contemporary art museum which features work from international artists and serves as a resource for SCAD students and alumni.
A four-block open air market that's been around since the 1700s, it has shopping, dining, and artworks that you can visit seven days a week.
A 15 minute drive from Savannah, you can go to the beach on Tybee Island! It has a large public pier and tons of local restaurants and shopping. There's also a shuttle you can take from Savannah if you don't want to drive.
