Jake and Marissa met in the most romantic of circumstances - a follow on Instagram that lead to chatting about forklift operations at their respective wineries in the harvest of 2019. As two young winemakers, Marissa went down to meet Jake prior to the grand opening of the winery he represented and show support in the spring of 2020, and as she told Julia on the day: she had a weird feeling that was the sort of day that could change her life. Despite him thinking she was married (because she was living with and flipping a house with her brother), they quickly straightened that detail out and bonded over enchiladas and a love of wines not grown in Canada. Our careers have evolved, and life took us on a literal journey, from BC, to Georgia, to Ontario, with Lyra in tow, all these years later.
