Years ago, when we were just tots at this adulting thing, we merely passed each other while working in a steakhouse. At that time, we had no idea the life we were living was molding us to be perfect for each other when the time was right. And then, ten years later our paths finally crossed again. It was in that moment that our souls ignited. ((Gag from the corny-ness)) From date number one, I knew that he was my one. It was scary and exciting. I just knew I was going to flub it up. Fast forward two years, I haven't flubbed it up, and he still likes me! So here we are, with you, preparing for the best day of our lives.
If you have chosen to actually read this, buckle up! I'm telling this story in the most romantic and dreamiest way that it actually happened in. One typical date night. We went to the Canal, a special place for us. It was were we had our second date. Me, a country bumpkin, enjoying the city life. We ate our weight in greasy burgers then got chased by some geese. As on cue as can be, I started feeling very ill. So we went home. I chewed some meds, waited 15 minutes and we headed out to finish date night. We went to this place called Flat Fork in Fortville. It is this large man-made hill that has the longest, curviest and most exhausting path leading to the top. Just imagine something from a Dr. Seuss book. We get up there, catch our breath and just enjoy the view. It was gorgeous. The sky was beautiful pinks and oranges and the temperature was a perfect 75 and breezy. It was magical, I could almost hear the angels singing up that high. So, we are sitting there, people watching. I look over and he is on one knee starting his speech about how amazing we are together and how much he loves me and how we just need to spend forever together. And, well, I agreed. I must admit, I was blown away! I had NO IDEA! I didn't even know he had a ring. This dude carried this ring in his pocket all night. Not even in the box! He's an animal! Looking back, we walked over the bridge at the canal, oh the anxiety. All of that nonsense aside, it is by far the most romantic evening printed in my brain. He surprised me, which isn't easy to do.
