Jake and I met through a mutual connection (our parents) about 30 years ago and have been best friends ever since. I’ve always been able to count on him to listen to blink 182’s deep cuts and watch the Bears not score any points, and over the last few years, have learned I can now count on Kat for these same things. I’m excited to officially welcome her into the family and am honored to be part of their day as Jakes best man.

I met Kat at the University of Arizona during my senior year at a mutual friend’s house. We got to talking about our love of the TV show Friends, a cappella concerts, and fine wine, and she’s been my best friend ever since! About two weeks after they met, I was with Kat when her new crush Jake called to say hi. I grilled him with some tough questions about his intentions (all of which he passed with flying colors!) and noticed that when they talked, Kat looked happier than ever before. I knew right then that she had found her lobster, and I can’t wait to be a part of their special day!

Kat and I met in 8th grade and became fast friends! We share a love of great food, punk music, Disney, and golden retrievers. We have been through a lot together. Watching Kat and Jake’s relationship grow has been amazing. She truly lights up whenever he comes into a room and it is clear he is her person. I am so honored to be a part of their wedding day!

Jake and I met freshman year of high school and bonded over our shared interest in making the most beautiful music this world has ever seen. From Nothing Lasts to Second Best to Call Me Capone, we’ve grown from scrawny skinny jean boys into semi function adults together. We still play in a band together to this day. I am honored to a part of Jake and Kat's wedding day.

Kat and I have been best friends since we were the new kids at Butterfield in 2nd grade. I love her more than we both love Chicago sports and it has been so fun to watch her and Jake fall in love. We may no longer be able to ‘throw our hands up’ to being independent women (she better bust out the talent show moves at the wedding), but I am so happy that Kat and Jake found their forever person and cannot be happier for them! I’ve had the pleasure of being friends with both Kat and Jake for over 10 years now and I love seeing these two together! I first met Kat when I moved to Libertyville in middle school. Jake and I have been friends ever since we lived next door to each other in Rienow Hall freshman year at Iowa and then he got me to join SigEp. We’ve been causing trouble together for 13 years now.

As Kat starts another new chapter of her life with Jake, her best friend, soulmate and cat daddy, I truly could not be happier for them. Jacob and I have gotten up to a lot of shenanigans over the years. We met in middle school, becoming buddies on the wrestling mat. In high school, we became good friends and started our streak for shenanigans, including the time I accidentally broke his arm at a bonfire and a few months later my own leg in a mosh pit while his band laid down a gnarly break down. While living in Chicago he has become one of my closest friends, continuing our trend of doing fun (and dumb) things. It’s been a blast becoming close with Kat over the years, and I am super happy to celebrate with them on their big day!

I was pretty surprised when Jake, who I met and became close friends with in college, asked me if I knew Kat and told me they were dating. Small world!

Katherine and I have known each other since birth. Our moms met when they were pregnant with us in California and we were born just 11 days apart! We have more than 30 years of memories together. We’ve helped each other throughout our entire lives, have remained best friends, and even lived together for 5 years! I often refer to her as my cousin so that people understand more simply when I try to explain our close relationship. I’m so happy to have gotten the chance to get close with Jake when he came into her life. Jake is a stand up guy and then some. I love you both and couldn’t be happier for you!

Besides being cousins, Jake and I were born just a month apart and have been close ever since: from going to the same summer camp to working the same summer job in college!
