Things To Do - Travel Tips

The Wedding Website of Juliana Tamayo and Jake Roach
Traveling in Colombia can be fun! But remember to stay vigilant, don't keep your phone or wallet in your back pocket, close your purse, and don't leave it unattended. Think like you would in NYC or a big city, lots of people, and lots of opportunities for pickpocketing! Here is how to get around: - Uber: we LOVE uber. We recommend you use Uber Comfort or Electric. These are cars recognized by the country's government, so they are safe. - Cabify: here you can get a taxi from your phone and pay directly with your credit card on your phone. We recommend you use it if you can't get an Uber. (https://cabify.com/en) Please DO NOT grab a taxi from the street. Malls and designated city areas have spots with a taxi sign and people who will call a taxi for you. This applies anywhere in Latin America, always use your phone for the app or call the taxi line directly. Now onto the fun stuff! Here are some things we recommend you do in Bogota along with our favorite travel agents.

Feel Colombia Tours

+573008381253

Head over to the dedicated section for Feel Tours Bogotá to learn more about the private tours and packages they offer in Bogotá. They are based in Medellin, but prepared tour packages for us in Bogota. If you are traveling around the country, they have tours all over, so visit their website for more details!

Monserrate

Monserrate

Carrera 2 Este No. 21-48 Paseo Bolívar, Bogota, 110311, Colombia
, (57) (1) 7470189

We recommend you take the cable car up. Stay for a hot chocolate or lunch at the restaurant at the top, you won't want to miss the views. This is also a great spot for dinner at night and seeing the city lights.

Gold Museum (Museo del Oro)

Cra. 6 #15-88, Bogotá, 110321, Colombia
, +57 601 3432222

This museum will teach you a lot about the history of Colombia, here you can see the largest prehispanic gold collection in the world. The items were used in daily life or sacred rituals of indigenous peoples like the muisca and tayrona.

Botero Museum

Calle 10 # 6-45, Bogotá, Bogotá 111711, Colombia

Fernando Botero was one of the most famous Colombian artists of our time. You might have seen his sculptures and paintings around the world, most famously in NYC. Enjoy this museum, especially now that in commemorates his memory after his recent passing (RIP),

Barrio La Candelaria

Barrio La Candelaria

Bogotá, Bogotá, Colombia

Immerse yourself in the old Bogotá and experience what it is like to live in our culture. It is home to some of the best food and art in the city and close to a lot of museums and other attractions.

Plaza de Bolívar

Plaza de Bolívar

11-10 Carrera 7, Bogotá, Bogotá 111711, Colombia

This main square is considered the main attraction in La Candelaria and it is home to Palacio de Justicia (Justice Palace) and el Capitolio Nacional (National Capitol). It also has the main cathedral in the city right at its center.

Salt Cathedral - Zipaquira

Salt Cathedral - Zipaquira

Parque De La Sal, Zipaquirá, Cundinamarca 250252, Colombia
, 01 8000 955 528

This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, you will get to explore a cathedral built underground in a salt mine. If you want to visit Zipaquira, head over to our favorite travel agents or book a car to take you, as it is a bit of a drive outside of Bogota, but worth it!

For all the days along the way
