Question

Is there anyone that can answer my questions?

Answer

Yes! We are working with a wonderful wedding planner Isabel Estrada and her team. They are available to answer any questions regarding the wedding or the events. If you need tips or advice, feel free to send them a message at isabelestradaplanner7@gmail.com and just mention Jake and Juli's wedding as the subject line.

Question

Can I get to the venue on my own the day of the wedding?

Answer

In short, we do not recommend it. The venue is far and outside the city, you might be able to get an Uber there but it will be expensive and they might not want to take you. We recommend you don't miss the scheduled shuttles. on the way back, there will be plenty of options for you to come back to your hotel. Check the Schedule section for details on the shuttle to the venue.

Question

What is the dress code?

Answer

Black-tie option and evening dress. Bogotá is in the mountains, and while we don't anticipate you will be out in the cold too long, you likely want to dress for weather around 55-65 degrees F (think Fall weather). For men, this means a suit and tie, or a tux if you want, but not required. For women, long evening dresses. Feel free to reach out to us if you still have questions!

Question

Is there transportation to and from the airport?

Answer

Unfortunately, we can't provide transportation for every guest since everyone is coming in at a different time. However, El Dorado airport is very big and has lots of options. As soon as you exit, you will see a certified taxi line with taxi attendants ready to help you. If you prefer it, Uber Black works great and you can pay directly on the app. Most Uber Black cars are white cars that are certified to carry out tourism activities, which makes them very safe. PS. Don't listen to random people trying to "sell" you on a taxi outside of the formal taxi line. This happens often because people are trying to make a buck, but it is not safe and the official line keeps tabs of all taxis.

Question

Are kids welcome?

Answer

While we love the children in our families and extended friend groups, we can't accommodate all of them, so this is a child-free event. If you are traveling from abroad and want to bring your kids, let us know if you need recommendations for child care or things to do with them.

Question

Is there anything going on Friday?

Answer

No! Friday is your free day to hang out and get to know Bogotá! Head over to Travel Tips to see some of our favorite places to visit. We also partnered with Feel Travel, you can book excursions directly with them in our Travel Tips section.

Question

Is it safe to move around the city?

Answer

Yes, but be smart. Bogotá is a very large city with over 11 million people. We recommend you stick to Uber Black or Uber Eco. Do not take taxis from the street, always use the designated taxi areas in public spaces or apps. Also, be mindful of what you have, don't leave purses/backpacks unattended, don't carry your phone in your back pocket, and be aware of your wallet. If possible, don't wear your nicest jewelry when out for a stroll. With over 11 million people, there are lots of things happening around you, but also lots of people to help you if needed. This is what we would recommend in any other large city across LatAm and even in the US. See Travel Tips for more. We do not recommend walking around late at night, especially if you are unfamiliar with the area, an Uber or a taxi is always accessible, and affordable! If you want to have someone drive you around for the days when you'll be free, let us know, we might have some contacts. If you would also like to schedule some private tours, head over to the Things To Do section or let us know.

Question

Will there be any tours available?

Answer

While we won't have any group activities planned for our guests aside from the Welcome Event, we are partnering with a tour company called Feel Tours. You can see more info on what to do and pay for private tours in English and other excursions in our Things To Do section and a complete slideshow in the section titled Feel Tours- Bogotá. We can also recommend our favorite travel agents if you want to stay in Colombia longer and plan some trips around the country. Just let us know!
