We're so excited to celebrate with you!

Jake and Julia met in Houston at the Representative Assembly for the National Education Assocation. They had mutual friends and were hanging out in a hotel room as a group. Jake kept on asking Julia about hypothetical fistfights and Julia made fun of Jake’s facial hair. You could say there was an initial attraction. A couple of days later, they went to an Astro’s game and both of them spent more time looking at each other than watching the game. The rest of the conference, they spent time getting to know each other.

Jake proposed to Julia almost a year after they started dating. To make the distance feel smaller, Jake wrote reasons why he loves Julia on a card for each day they were together and Julia would read a card every night over Facetime. This summer, they were camping at their friend's property on the St Joe River over Labor Day weekend and Jake, Julia, and Micah were down on the dock. Jake pulled out a card for the previous night since Julia forgot to read one. Then, he pulled out one for that night and it read, “I’ve given you hundreds of reasons why I love you. I’ll love you forever. Always. Will you marry me?.” Julia was in shock and was not expecting it at all. She said yes, they popped some champagne and celebrated the rest of the weekend.

July 3rd, 2019- First Met September 8th, 2019- Made it Official May 18th, 2020- Julia Moved to Idaho September 5th, 2020- Engaged!
