Welcome Message

If we had it our way, this would be a notice telling you all that we eloped. Since our parents have been patiently waiting for a wedding, we decided 2 events would suffice. With that said, we’ve created this website as a convenient way to share all of the important details with you. We can’t wait to see you and celebrate our special day with you all.

Our journey to Braga ✨

JDStruckGold - Our love story

In the spring of 2023, Danayi was introduced to The Lighthouse Church in Salford. She made ad hoc appearances at church and would later find out Jake was also a member of this church. After more regular visits to church (Jake begs to differ), and failed CRB checks (since they had no mutual friends), Jake approached Danayi & asked for her Instagram. One of Jake’s very first lines was asking if Danayi would be his plus one to a destination wedding. Now, anybody who knows Danayi knows she can’t say no to a holiday, but it turns out the wedding was in the UK, so no holiday for her at all. It was bold, but looking back, maybe a little prophetic because now, here we are, planning our own destination wedding. We spoke quite a bit, albeit Jake thought it wasn’t long enough & asked Danayi out on a first date after a MONTH of exchange of DMs and memes (almost two months, Danayi reckons). Our first date was mini golf — not the most traditional start, but it was fun and full of laughs (and maybe a little healthy competition). Danayi won but Jake still claims he let her win. From then on, everything felt easy between them and they grew naturally. They kept showing up for each other, learning, growing, and finding comfort in the little things — long talks, shared playlists, prayers and more dates (at Jake’s expense of course). Fast forward a year & a half later, Danayi was invited to ‘Kiera’s 25th birthday party’ as Jake’s plus one. In order to persuade Danayi to dress up for the occasion, as she assumed jeans and a nice top would do, Jake bought a suit & convinced Danayi to buy a dress, with help from Sarah, Ropa & Jason. On the 12th April 2025, Danayi walked onto our friend’s rooftop terrace only to find she was being proposed to, gasp! (Also, Kiera never existed.) We truly believe God brought us together at the right time, in the right way. Through it all, our faith in God has grounded us, guided us, and brought us closer. Now, we’re getting married in Portugal, surrounded by sunshine and the people we love most. It’s not just a celebration — it’s a thank you to God, and a promise to keep choosing each other every day. Matthew 19:6 - “So they are no longer two, but one flesh. Therefore what God has joined together, let no one separate.”
